PIRELLI RECEIVES J.D. POWER 2015 ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT AWARD FOR PERFORMANCE SPORT

May 7, 2015
For the second year in a row, Pirelli has scored highest in the Performance Sport segment in the J.D. Power 2015 Original Equipment Tire Customer Satisfaction Study.

For the second year in a row, Pirelli has scored highest in the Performance Sport segment in the J.D. Power 2015 Original Equipment Tire Customer Satisfaction StudySM. Pirelli achieved an index score of 693 for the Performance Sport segment in the study, which analyzes consumer satisfaction with original equipment (OE) tires.

To mark this achievement, today J.D. Power presented the award to Pierluigi Dinelli, Chairman and CEO for Pirelli Tire North America.

“It is a true honor to be recognized once again as the highest ranked tire in the Performance Sport segment in this year’s J.D. Power OE study. We’re thrilled that Pirelli tires have received that vote of confidence from consumers in North America, where we have been strongly committed to bring Pirelli’s trademark R&D, technology and premium quality into products that are relevant for their driving needs and the market,” said Pierluigi Dinelli, Chairman and CEO for Pirelli Tire North America. “Our growing leadership in North American motorsports, particularly the Pirelli World Challenge, alongside our Formula One partnership and the exciting new Pirelli GP Experience, is the backbone of why we excel in this Performance Sport category. Testing and developing tires for the most demanding conditions allows us to transfer these improvements and increased performance functionality straight back to consumers.”

Pirelli has come in first for the Performance Sport segment four out of the last six years (achieving the highest score in 2015, 2014, 2012 and 2010). This speaks to Pirelli’s strength and leadership of the premium and ultra-high performance (UHP) tire markets in North America, where  Pirelli tires are increasingly the first choice as original equipment for US manufacturers Cadillac and Ford; as well as Aston Martin, Bentley, BMW, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati, Mercedes, and Porsche.

The 2015 Original Equipment Tire Customer Satisfaction Study is based on responses from approximately 29,000 original owners of 2013 or 2014 model-year vehicles.  The study was fielded in November and December 2014.
