Continental Tire has been named an original equipment supplier in the U.S. market for the 2009 Mercedes-Benz M-Class with the all-season 265/45 R20 108H XL Conti4X4Contact.

A premium luxury performance SUV tire, the Conti4x4Contact “emphasizes a superb ride with crisp handling and provides the benefit of all-season traction and capability,” according to a Continental executive.

The M-Class offers a sedan-like ride without sacrificing agility, and incorporates technologies that provide improved vehicle dynamics and world-class safety levels, the official adds. The “PRE SAFE” system, which can automatically detect the potential of a crash and will take action to protect the occupants, comes as standard equipment.

“We are excited to achieve this approval and again meet Mercedes-Benz’s demanding performance requirements,” the Continental executive reports. “This represents a further continuation of the long developmental history of our two companies.”
