  • With record-breaking numbers in the first half of 2015 in global automotive merger and acquisition (M&A) activity, the financial strength of the automotive industry is looking very positive. Deal volume and value continue to grow with 276 deals in the first half of 2015 – a 10 percent increase from 2014.

  • Sales for the Automotive Group were down 2% reflecting core automotive growth of 4% offset by a 6% impact of currency.

  • Congress returned from its August recess with at least two Senate bills with aftermarket components awaiting further action. One of those bills deals with highway transportation, the other with energy.
  • Africa, Latin America and the Middle East are growth areas for the global automotive aftermarket, according to members of the Overseas Automotive Council (OAC) of the Automotive Aftermarket Suppliers Association (AASA).
