The Spanish version of CTS was made possible after the membership agreed to separately fund the project so production could immediately begin.

Contributors to the project include Becker Tire & Treading, Bridgestone, Cooper, GCR/TDS, Goodyear, Kal Tire, Michelin, Pomp’s Tire Service, Inc. and Sullivan Tire Centers, LLC.

“This is a prime example of TIA working with our members to meet the needs of the tire industry,” says President Larry Brandt.

“Spanish translation of CTS was not in the budget for 2011, but some of our tire dealer and manufacturer members stepped up with contributions that enabled us to move this project to the top of the priority list,” he reports. “They needed it sooner rather than later, so we worked together to make it happen.”

Spanish CTS is available in the 300-Level Certified Technician series for experienced employees, and the 200-Level Basic program for new hires and employees in need of training mandated by Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Regulation 29 CFR 1901.177.

“Like all of our training and certification programs, Spanish CTS offers the same level of high-quality videos and workbooks,” says Kevin Rohlwing, senior vice president of training.

“We took the time to translate all of the graphics and re-edit the entire video so the Spanish version could stand side-by-side with the English,” he explains.

“For the first time in the history of truck tire and wheel service, companies with Spanish-speaking technicians can provide their employees with high-level safety training,” Rohlwing points out.
