In order to further solidify the organization’s position as “the industry leader in tire technician training and education,” the Tire Industry Association (TIA) now offers all of its 200-Level Basic, and 250-Level Advanced Training Programs in a web-based format at the TIA On-Line University.

The traditional TIA video and workbook programs are transposed to an electronic learning management system that precisely tracks the progress of each technician, allowing them to engage and learn the material at their own pace.

The On-Line University includes knowledge checks throughout each module keeping the student engaged in the content while increasing their retention. After all of the modules have been accessed and completed the student is allowed to take the final exam. Trainees must fulfill the skills demonstration requirement in addition to passing the exam to successfully complete the training.

It also includes a management function, allowing company administrators to access real-time data and view the progress of each employee that accesses the training program they are required to complete. In addition, the data can be exported as an Excel spreadsheet allowing for the compatibility with most HR software programs.

“An educated workforce results in higher productivity, lower liability and happier customers,” says Executive Vice President Dr. Roy Littlefield. “With the new web-based format for new hire training, TIA members can take one step closer toward being the best in their market.”

“Our members are constantly looking for ways to improve their efficiency and lower their costs,” notes Kevin Rohlwing, senior vice president of training.

“The On-Line University is the perfect solution for progressive companies who want to provide their employees with the best training,” he reports.

“We achieve tremendous savings when we eliminate the videos, workbooks and paper tests, so we can offer unlimited access to our Basic and Advanced programs at a fixed cost for the entire year, Rohlwing points out.
