N.Y. Yankees and Yokohama extend marketing sponsorship pact

Yokohama has renewed its promotional partnership with the New York Yankees.

Yokohama has renewed its promotional partnership with the New York Yankees.

“The Yankees transcend baseball and is one of the most recognizable brands in all of sports,” says sales director Shawn Denlein. “Our multi-year agreement includes a permanent sign on the bleacher wall in left field, ‘hospitality’ and the opportunity to conduct a consumer sweepstakes program.”

With more than 3.6 million fans attending the team’s home games last year, plus millions of television viewers, Denlein says partnering with the 27-time world champions will give the tire maker “extraordinary visibility that will drive consumer traffic” to its Big Apple-area dealers.

In addition to the Yankees, Yokohama’s 2012 baseball sponsorships include deals with the Philadelphia Phillies and the Los Angles Angels.

The company also has existing partnerships with the National Basketball Association’s Houston Rockets along with three National Football League teams – the Dallas Cowboys, Baltimore Ravens and New England Patriots.
