Expanding its wire service tool line, OTC has introduced the Wire Loom Threading Kit, P/N 4462, available now. The five-piece set includes three various length wire pulling tools, a grommet insertion tool and a pigtail tool for building wiring harnesses underhood or on a bench.

The wire pulling tools, in 5.5-inch, 10-inch and 15-inch lengths, are ideal for common automotive applications including adding new wire to existing protective looms. The grommet insertion tool holds a wire secure to fish it through a vehicle’s firewall while the pigtail tool assists when building new harnesses in positioning wires within an open loom.

“Wire pulling tools are an essential part of installing or servicing any vehicle electronics, especially when adding new equipment,” said Dirk Skogerboe, OTC product manager. “Technicians can avoid pulling apart existing looms and re-taping, saving time and potential damage to interior wires. Faster service and less risk of damaging wires means higher profit for technicians.”

In addition to the new Wire Loom Threading Kit, OTC’s line of specialty wire service tools is comprised of more than 20 tools, including:

-        CrimPro™ 4-in-1 angled and straight wire tools, P/N 5950A, 5950S, allowing access to tight spaces with specially-designed crimping heads

-        Terminal release tool set, P/N 4461, helping technicians avoid breaking plastic clips and easily disconnect vehicle wiring harnesses

-        Cordless 3-in-1 solder tool kit, P/N 4472, a freestanding, butane-powered torch that can be used as a soldering iron, torch or heat tool

Wire service tools, available now, refers to anything needed to service vehicle wiring, including headlamps, brake and instrument lighting, window/mirror controls, trailer harness installation or repair, HVAC motors and fans and more.

OTC’s wire service tools are available through OTC’s traditional distribution methods. For more information on OTC tools, visit www.OTCtools.com
