March's question was an easy one.
All of the following statements are true EXCEPT:
A. The CALC LOAD PID is a measure of how much work the engine is doing.
B. Global OBD II scan tool functions are standardized.
C. Data PIDs in Global OBD II are accurate representations of sensor data.
D. Global OBD II Mode $09 is where you will find the vehicle VIN (as recorded in the ECM) and ECM calibration information.
You were correct if you answered A. The CALC LOAD Parameter Identifier (PID) can give you the idea of how hard the engine is working but it is not a measure of that work. It is, instead, a calculated figure representing the volumetric efficiency of the engine.
