The Automotive Service Association has announced that AutoZone – a longtime ASA benefit provider and associate member – is offering another money-saving benefit for ASA members.

With the new ASA Member Starting and Charging Program, AutoZone provides shop members with a rack, signage and their new ProPower batteries – a professional line not sold over the counter at retail. Batteries have a two-year free replacement. In addition, battery-testing equipment is provided by AutoZone, which includes the Auto Meter BVA200DLP (974190). Test equipment is made available to ASA member-shops through a tool account with extended terms (12 months). Each sale of qualifying products (Batteries, Starters and Alternators) earns dollars toward paying off the tester. Credit is applied on an account every calendar quarter.

In addition to convenient inventory consignment, the program includes customizable assortments per location, inventory adjustments based on shop history, the ability to service racks with other parts orders, and locking racks available at no charge.

Testing customers’ batteries will result in needed sales and build customer loyalty. AutoZone estimates an average repair business might earn approximately $20,000 in a year as a result of offering this complimentary service.

AutoZone offers national account pricing with volume rebate programs for ASA members. Battery racks are replenished and serviced by your local AutoZone location.

“We’re very pleased to bring this national AutoZone program to ASA members. Their purchases of batteries, starters and alternators will work concurrently with the pre-existing tiered rebate program enjoyed by so many ASA members. And their customers will appreciate the battery testing services it allows. This makes it a ‘win-win’ for ASA members,” said Dan Risley, ASA president and executive director.
