Granted, April’s question wasn’t a true ASE question. In celebration of our inaugural Automechanika Chicago training event, we asked if you could identify the incorrect statement related to Chicago’s colorful history. Here’s the question from April:
Which of the following historical facts is NOT true?
A. On October 7, 1997, the Chicago City Council approved a resolution, which absolved Mrs. O'Leary's cow of all blame for the Great Chicago Fire.
B. The Great Chicago Fire raged from October 8 to 9th, 1871. It destroyed 3.5 square miles of the city, lasted 27 hours and destroyed 17,450 buildings.
C. William B. Ogden was elected the city's first mayor in 1837.
D. Chicago was founded by a French immigrant named Pierre deChikagou
The correct answer was “D”, and even if you didn’t get the answer right, you could still enter your name in the random drawing sponsored by Federated Auto Parts. The monthly winner receives a cool diecast model for display in your shop or home.
There’s still time to take the May ASE Question of the Month, and still time to enter for our next drawing. Who knows, I may be writing this blog about you!
