For the fifth consecutive year, United States automotive technicians voted Interstate Batteries the brand to beat, outperforming its competitors in brand preferences and future intentions. In an annual survey conducted by Frost & Sullivan, Interstate dominated the automotive battery category with one out of every two U.S. automotive technicians choosing Interstate Batteries as their preferred brand.

“Interstate Batteries is proud to again be recognized as the industry leader in providing superior battery products to technicians across the country,” said Dennis Brown, Interstate Batteries senior vice president and chief marketing officer. “We are committed to providing these important decision-makers with batteries that perform reliably.”

According to the Frost & Sullivan study, 71 percent of U.S. automotive technicians make automotive battery brand purchase decisions or influence the decisions. Most impressively among these decision-makers: 49 percent report intentions to choose Interstate Batteries again on their next purchase.

Frost & Sullivan is a global growth consulting company and partnering with clients to support the development of innovative strategies for 50 years.

The company surveyed 350 U.S. automotive technicians in November and December 2011. These technicians primarily work for independent automotive garage/repair shops that have at least three bays. Additionally, most have 10 or more years of experience as automotive technicians.

“Interstate Batteries continues to demonstrate excellence within the automotive batteries market. They have maintained their significant leadership through the years of this survey, and based on their best practices, we expect they will maintain this lead for the foreseeable future,” said Frost & Sullivan Research Analyst, Rolando Barerra.

Interstate Batteries will receive recognition for the award at the 2012 Excellence in Best Practices Awards Banquet, March 13 in Coronado, Calif.
