BANGKOK, Dec. 8, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Thai and foreign businesses in the automotive industry have enthusiastically signed up to participate in ASEAN's Auto Parts & Accessories Fair, "TAPA 2012." There are still a few booths available for those interested in taking part. The fair will showcase automotive products, parts, components and accessories to buyers from around the world. The fair will be held April 26-29, 2012, at BITEC, Bangna, Thailand.

According to Mrs. Nuntawan Sakuntanaga, Director-General of the Department of Export Promotion, Ministry of Commerce, "There are currently many leading Thai and foreign businesses applying to participate in the Thailand Auto Parts & Accessories 2012, or TAPA 2012. This fair serves as a platform for trade negotiations and promotion of Thai industry, as well as providing opportunities for launching new products, technology, innovations and services. Participants will be arriving from Thailand, ASEAN, South Asia, Japan, Taiwan, Australia, Africa and the European Union.

"Preparations for the TAPA 2012 fair are brimming with excitement. The Department of Export Promotion, along with the Thai Autoparts Manufacturers Association, is organizing the fair and confirms it will be held on April 26-29, 2012 as scheduled. Although Thailand is currently facing flood conditions affecting the automotive industry, TAPA 2012 is nevertheless expected to be even more successful than the previous TAPA fair, with anticipated participation of 400 companies. This is 23% higher than TAPA 2010's 323 exhibitors. Approximately 16,000 visitors are expected this year, which is 68% higher than TAPA's previous attendance of 9,491," stated Mrs. Nuntawan.

Mrs. Nuntawan added, "Automotive products, parts, components and accessories have a very positive impact on the country's export sector. Automobile export values in the first 7 months of this year (January - July 2011) amounted to over 7,844 million US dollars. This year's export values are estimated to be 14,741 million US dollars. The TAPA Fair is one of the industry's primary export strategies, as it creates opportunities for small- and medium-sized businesses, as well as promoting Thailand's image as a manufacturing and exporting centre in the global marketplace. Thailand is known for quality products in the automotive sector, including parts, components and accessories. The Department of Export Promotion and the Thai Autoparts Manufacturers Association are committed to a high standard of excellence in organizing this year's fair, with the intent of becoming one of the biggest and best automotive fairs in the ASEAN region. The fair will be held under the concept of 'Automotive innovations and technology for a sustainable environment.' Eco-friendly products and innovations will be introduced with the idea of keeping the world green and helping to reduce pollution and global warming as well as saving energy."
