LAS VEGAS — Magneti Marelli has expanded its coverage in the U.S. this year to beyond parts lines to the diagnostic side.

Annette Wolford, sales and business development director for Magneti Marelli, says the new diagnostic tools provide repair shops and dealerships with the ability to diagnose all makes, tying in the company’s all makes product lines.
There are four models — Vision, Flex, Smart and Logic — in addition to the on-board Road. Both Logic and Vision are stand-alone models, while Flex and Smart are PC-ready. The tools will be available in the first quarter of 2013.
“It will be affordable, it has exclusive functions and has oscilloscope capabilities,” Wolford says.
Repair shops and dealerships have tested the tools, and Wolford says the feedback has been great. “They cannot wait for them, they want them now,” she adds.
Like other aspects of Magneti Marelli’s offerings, the diagnostic tools will be available at Chrysler training centers. The Chrysler Training Academy recently chose the Flex tester for diagnosis and training within every Chrysler Training Center across the U.S.
Wolford says the tools are good for shops, as they can buy them for the technicians instead of the technicians providing his or her own tools or using an outside diagnostic company.
“Because they’re affordable, they can have several of them and not have to wait,” Wolford states.
