The vans feature training materials and Internet-connected monitors to help technicians work through common problems on-site and educate countermen at jobber and WD locations. An ASE-certified, Federal-Mogul trained educator will conduct the training.
The program will roll out in stages, with about a dozen vans in major markets like New York City, Los Angeles, Dallas and Chicago. The program also will be deployed in Canada. Training will be offered on demand and through cold call stops, during business hours or after work.
The vans feature computers and monitors on the passenger side, to which technicians, service advisors and countermen can stand and walk through problems and common issues with the trainer. The trainer has access to all of Federal-Mogul’s technical information through its FMe-cat.com and FMe360.com.
Trainers can email PDF technical bulletins straight to the shop, jobber or distributor from the van. The back end of the van also features removable training boards for shows or larger classes.
The training also can help Federal-Mogul train service advisors and countermen on educating consumers and technicians on using premium parts, rather than a lower cost alternative.

We believe it’s our responsibility as a leading manufacturer to offer a comprehensive two-way communication platform that provides valuable daily support of these professionals on a one-to-one basis,” said Jay Burkhart, senior vice president, global markets, Vehicle Component Solutions, Federal-Mogul. “This platform will serve as hands-on, in-market interface with the thousands of professionals who specify and install our products on the job.”
