Grif Jordan, product marketing manager at Honeywell Friction Materials, says the ecatalog’s new layout allows users to find information on year/make/model and includes upgraded information, like parts, competitor searches and more.

Additionally, Bendix has added a VIN search function for users. Jordan says all of the parts for a specific vehicle will be listed in order of use on the vehicle.

“The first item isn’t a cable, it’s a disc pad,” he explains. “We put a little thought into what people are looking for.”

Bendix is adding more training videos and inventory updates to the ecatalogy, and will be updating the website more in the future, Jordan notes.

The e-catalog initiative, a major focus for the company in 2012, is part of the new Bendix website rollout, which has a simple and clean design that helps users quickly find what they’re looking for.

“We designed the part search function to be an indispensable tool and not just a repository of information,” Jordan says. “The content is connected to mimic the technician’s workflow. After they identify a part, any additional Honeywell alternatives reflecting either greater value or performance upgrades compatible with their search are listed to provide even greater product selection. Users will also have the appropriate ordering detail, any specific installation notes, links to troubleshooting training videos and even third-party forum discussions on the product collected for them without having to go search additional sites or navigate through exhaustive asset libraries to find the right detail.”

The ecatalog also features the ability to change years within the search without having to start again. Jordan adds that every part number that has a photo is highlighted with all of the product information. Competitor interchanges are listed as well.

The ecatalog is available for the iPhone. For more information, visit www.honeywellnow.com.
