Ford to introduce three new electric passenger vehicles and four new electric commercial vehicles in Europe by 2024.

Ford unveiled plans to launch seven all-electric vehicles in Europe including three new passenger vehicles and four new commercial vehicles.

The automaker will begin production in 2023 of an all-new electric passenger vehicle, a medium-sized crossover. This vehicle along with a second EV - a sports crossover - that will be added to the line-up in 2024 will be built in at the Ford Cologne Electrification Center in Germany. Additionally, the Ford Puma will be available as an electric version starting in 2024, according to the announcement made by Ford. It will be built in Craiova, Romania.

Investment in the new electric passenger vehicles to be built in Cologne is expected to be $2 billion, Ford said. This also includes a new battery assembly facility to begin operations in 2024.

Ford's Transit light commercial vehicle range will include four new electric models: Transit Custom 1-ton van and Tourneo Custom multi-purpose vehicle in 2023, and a small Transit Courier van and Tourneo Courier multi-purpose vehicle in 2024.

Ford expects its annual sales of EVs in Europe to exceed 600,000 units in 2026 and it's targeting zero emissions for all vehicle sales in Europe and carbon neutrality across its European footprint of facilities, logistics, and suppliers by 2035.

The seven new electric vehicles launches will bring the number of full-electric cars sold by Ford in Europe to nine. The company previously launched its all-electric Mach-E sports car last year in Europe and Mach-E GT this year.
