Certain 2021 F-150 vehicles are being recalled due to potential unexpected shift into neutral while driving.

Ford is recalling certain 2021 F-150 vehicles due to a potential unexpected shift into neutral while driving. Just over 47,000 vehicles could be affected.

The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) for low transmission fluid pressure may falsely activate and cause the transmission to unexpectedly shift into neutral, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA)

Ford will begin sending out recall notices in the mail in early May. Owners may contact Ford's customer service by calling 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 22S15.

To remedy the situation, dealers will updated the powertrain control module (PCM) software at no charge.

To check to see if your vehicle has an open recall, visit NHTSA's website and enter the vehicle's 17-digit vehicle identification number.
