With over 30 years of experience in the collision repair industry serving as a leader in multiple capacities, including leadership positions with several large MSOs such as Manheim and ABRA, Dave Luehr has seen his fair share of successful shop processes. Now, as the owner of Elite Body Shop Solutions, a coaching and consulting company dedicated to the success of the small business leaders of the collision repair industry, Luehr continues to use his experience and modern process skills to help shops excel.
In a time of increasing consolidation in this industry, Luehr’s consulting and expertise has given small independent shops the confidence and proper strategies to differentiate themselves from their local market in order to thrive. Recently, Luehr took his passion for helping the industry to the next level with his new book, co-authored with Stacey Phillips, The Secrets of America’s Greatest Body Shops, in which he shares lessons for effective collision shop management paired with real-world stories of shops that are successfully implementing those lessons.
Through his consulting, writing and speaking, Dave’s passion for the industry has helped an international audience improve their businesses and quality of life. During NACE Automechanika Chicago, you will have the opportunity to benefit from Luehr’s expertise on successful shop processes and leadership styles via two courses.
On Wednesday, July 26 at 1:00 p.m., Luehr will instruct a course titled “Greatest Production Systems – The Secrets of America’s Greatest Body Shops Series.”
During this course, Luehr will offer a real-world look at the smart and simple production systems being used by some of America’s greatest body shops, such as creating SOPs and operational playbooks for optimum work in process (WIP) levels.
“I’ll be discussing what some of the greatest body shops in America are doing to build a sustainable business model, and the majority of the topics covered you can implement in any size shop—you don’t have to be wealthy,” Luehr explains.
