If you’re building it, they will come. Bad “Field of Dreams” references aside, on-site specialized training for welders has never been more accessible for manufacturers in northern Ohio. Last year, the National Center for Welding Education and Training (Weld-Ed), in partnership with Lorain County Community College, introduced a 48-foot self-contained trailer equipped with eight state-of-the-art welding stations. The Mobile Welder Training Center is equipped to deliver onsite customized training to manufacturers, fabricating operations, and metalworking companies throughout northern Ohio.

The mobile training center was made possible through a grant from the Ohio Depart- ment of Higher Education (formerly the Ohio Board of Regents), with assistance from Ohio Senator Gayle Manning (D-13).
