Multi Parts Supply (MPS) announced the four recent recipients of the MPS scholarships awarded through the Global Automotive Aftermarket Symposium (GAAS). A record number of scholarships were granted in 2013 by the aftermarket auto parts developer and manufacturer.

The recipient of the $2,500 MPS International Aftermarket Scholarship is Andrew Cameron from Northwood University, Michigan Campus. Andrew comes from a family of automotive enthusiasts. Soon after attending the AAPEX show in Las Vegas he decided that joining the automotive aftermarket was his career goal.

The recipient of a $1,000 scholarship honoring MPS’ clients is Nicole Kelsey. Nicole is currently pursuing a BA with a double major in management and marketing. She plans to obtain an AA in automotive technology in the near future.  Nicole is a car fanatic and is interested in the ever-improving world of the aftermarket.

The second $1,000 MPS scholarship went to Daniel Egge, a student at Northwood University at Cerritos College, Cerritos, Calif. Daniel is the fourth generation to join Egge Machine Company. Egge Machine was founded in 1915 and produces internal engine components for vintage automobiles. Daniel plans to lead the company into its next 50 years in the aftermarket.

Finally, the $1,000 Peter Klotz Scholarship recipient is Lara O’Shields. Lara has already obtained three ASE certifications, and is planning on attaining all eight before the end of 2013. Her long-term goal is to open an all female owned and staffed repair shop. The Peter Klotz scholarship was established to honor lifetime MPS friend and industry stalwart, the late Peter Klotz.

MPS President Brian S. Cohn said, “We are delighted with the quality of all the 2013 applicants. We are confident that all four scholarship recipients will go on to do great things in the aftermarket industry, and we are thrilled to be a part of that process.”

A privately held American company, MPS is a developer and manufacturer of aftermarket auto parts for full line manufacturers and their leading global brands. Headquartered in Jupiter, Fla., MPS has a fully integrated global network of manufacturing facilities, testing laboratories, logistics, quality control and customer support facilities in Florida, New York, Europe, and China.
