Motorcraft improves product offerings in fourth quarter

Ford's effort is part of an ongoing commitment to help shops and suppliers by streamlining inventory, reducing prices and in some cases expanding coverage to include new products for older vehicles.

On the heels of extensive third quarter product actions, Ford Motor Company has announced hundreds of additional fourth quarter product actions. The effort is part of an ongoing commitment to help shops and suppliers by streamlining inventory, reducing prices and in some cases expanding coverage to include new products for older model vehicles.

Ford’s latest actions encompass four product lines, with promise of more product momentum in the first quarter of 2017, including several new product launches.

“We are listening to our customers and taking significant steps to give them what they want,” said Marc Liskey, North America Repair Product Planning Acceleration Product Launch Manager. “Reducing prices and consolidating parts will make it easier to stock and sell Motorcraft parts, helping service professionals do their job and driving customer satisfaction in the process.”

Since May 2015, Motorcraft has reduced pricing on more than 4,000 parts, while at the same time streamlining several product lines to provide the same coverage with less inventory, and in some cases adding Motorcraft products to meet the needs of aging vehicles.

The latest product actions will expand Motorcraft product coverage, make it easier to stock necessary parts and lower prices so that Motorcraft parts are more competitive with other aftermarket options. The latest product actions include:

· Reducing price and expanding coverage on hub & bearing assemblies for high mileage, late life-cycle vehicles. Average price reduced by 30%.

· Introducing a line of 100% new starters with the same coverage as our current remanufactured line for 2005 and older Ford and Lincoln vehicles.

· Reducing price and expanding coverage on brake pads for key vehicles (Explorer, Flex/MKT, Taurus/MKS, F-150, Transit, and Transit Connect).

· Introducing a consolidated line of friction-ready remanufactured calipers.

“The goal here is to continually evolve our product line to ensure Motorcraft parts are highly competitive in the marketplace while preserving the quality and fit that is synonymous with the Motorcraft name,” said Liskey. “We want technicians to know that we are working to stay ahead of their needs, and this announcement is one of many that will take place in the future to ensure we are constantly in sync with our customers.”

All parts will come with Motorcraft’s two-year/unlimited mileage warranty.
