FAIRLAWN, Ohio – ContiTech unveiled its new-look North American headquarters here today, and ContiTech NAFTA CEO Jim Hill pledged that the new organization would focus on informing its customers and the public about the new name and new brands created by the acquisition of Veyance Technologies.

“We will continue to provide the same top-quality products and services to our existing customers and now, as a member of the Continental family, we will be able to provide world class options in all the product lines and the industries we serve,” Hill said.  “We’re basically the same organization as before – but just bigger and better!”

Continental completed its acquisition of Veyance Technologies (formerly Goodyear Engineered Products) in January 2015. When combined, ContiTech and Veyance are about a $7 billion global company, Hill said during a press conference after the unveiling of the new name.

“We’ve been combining Veyance with ContiTech for about six months,” Hill said. “They are two separate companies from different parts of the world, so there are cultural challenges. The cultural immersion of these two companies will take longer than the physical merger.” About 180 employees work at the Fairlawn headquarters, he said.

“Our new organization will enable us to strategically position ourselves to provide dynamic growth for all of the markets in which we compete in the NAFTA region,” said Hill. “We will continue to grow our customer network, and provide the seamless distribution of our products with our focus on the NAFTA region.”

ContiTech will begin to launch a series of advertising campaigns on the new brand names and supplement them with press releases and special communications efforts to its customer and distributor base.

During the press conference, Hill said Continental Elite will be the name of the belt and hose brand. “We are putting it in warehouses now and soon they will be all stocked,” he said. “We will not use the Goodyear or Gatorback brands. Communicating the brand change is a big challenge.”

He said the Continental Elite brand will be introduced to a large trade show audience for the first time at the AAPEX show in Las
Vegas in November.
