BPI raised more than $168,000 for the United Way of Greater McHenry County in 2016, which marks the fifth consecutive year the company has surpassed the $100,000 mark.

Employees of Brake Parts Inc (BPI) continued their commitment to giving back to the community by once again partnering with the United Way of Greater McHenry County in 2016. BPI raised more than $168,000, which marks the fifth consecutive year the company has surpassed the $100,000 mark.

BPI matched the money that was raised by employees through direct donations and special fundraising projects, including many held at the McHenry, Ill., headquarters. These events included a silent auction, bake sale, “jeans months” where employees paid to wear jeans to work, an office furniture sale, raffles, golf passes, a taco lunch sale, computer sale, brake sale and more.

“Every year, the BPI employees rise to the challenge of raising money for our local United Way chapter, and this year is no exception,” said David Overbeeke, president and CEO of Brake Parts Inc. “I am so proud of the dedication that everyone has made to this important partnership as it helps to better the lives of fellow community members that need the assistance. None of this would have been possible without the planning and help from the BPI/United Way committee and the generosity of every BPI employee.”

Brake Parts Inc has been the largest contributor to the United Way of Greater McHenry County for several years and has received the Landmark Award four times. The Landmark Award was created in 2011 and is reserved for companies who reach an outstanding level of success by raising $100,000 or more during their United Way campaign. BPI has partnered with United Way for over a decade and looks forward to continuing their tradition of giving.
