The Automotive Distribution Network's hiring of Mike Whitten as its first chief financial officer represents a broader commitment to improve visibility and transparency of the operation to the Network’s membership, the company said.

The Automotive Distribution Network has named Mike Whitten its first chief financial officer. He brings a wealth of financial and accounting experience in various industries to his new role, according to David Prater, president of the Network.

“Mike’s hiring as the group’s first-ever CFO represents a broader commitment to improve visibility and transparency of the operation to the Network’s membership,” says Prater. “Mike’s accounting and financial experience from a broad range of industries will prove to be invaluable as the Network continues to grow.”

Holding credentials as a CPA, Certified Internal Auditor, Certified Business Manager, and Kepner-Tregoe Program Leader, Whitten will be responsible for adding greater structure and organization to the Network’s financial systems and financial reporting. Whitten most recently served as divisional CFO of DYK Automotive LLC for more than seven years.

“I’m excited about coming in as the Network’s first CFO because I can help define the position with my own ideas and approach to finance, accounting and operations,” says Whitten, who also served as chief accounting officer for Holly Farms Corp. in the 1970s and ’80s. “Over the years, I’ve seen a lot of different accounting systems, and I’ve worked with plenty of great people from a broad number of industries. I’ve seen a variety of different approaches that worked in various companies, so I believe I can bring something new that the Network hasn’t seen before.”

Operating under the brands of Parts Plus, Parts Plus Mexico, IAPA and Auto Pride, the Automotive Distribution Network is one of the largest, most diverse program groups in the industry.
