RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. – Buying habits for automotive parts are creating new business models and the emergence of pure online e-tailers. Suppliers attending the 2019 Vision Conference, presented by the Automotive Aftermarket Suppliers Association (AASA), will have an opportunity to hear firsthand from Amazon’s Director of Automotive Adam Goetsch and his view of “The Evolving Channel Model.” The event is slated for Wednesday, April 3, at The Henry, Dearborn, Mich.
“We have witnessed the tremendous growth and impact Amazon has experienced,” said Bill Long, AASA president and chief operating officer. “AASA is hosting this important session for our supplier members as the aftermarket industry continues to explore new avenues in response to changing consumer buying habits.”
“At the Vision conference, Amazon will be sharing its point of view on the aftermarket and their place in it,” said Paul McCarthy, AASA executive vice president. “Adam has invited suppliers to engage in conversation about e-tailing’s place in the evolving channel model.”
In his current role, Goetsch manages Amazon.com’s automotive store, including buying, merchandising, pricing, supply chain, product management and software development responsibilities. He has held many roles at Amazon during his 12-plus year tenure, including product management (both physical and digital), buying, supply chain and merchandising within a variety of categories. Goetsch holds an MBA from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Illinois.
Goetsch’s discussion at the AASA Vision Conference is part of the segment, “New Roads: Building New Channels for Collaboration,” exclusively for the association’s supplier members. The member-only segment, scheduled for the closing of the Conference, is in two parts and will conclude with Mark Finestone, executive vice president of merchandising for AutoZone, as the featured speaker for the “Customer Spotlight.”
