The Chengdu International Trade Fair for Automotive Parts and Aftermarket Services (CAPAS) is scheduled to take place May 19-21, 2016, and focus on the automotive market in Southwest China.

The Chengdu International Trade Fair for Automotive Parts and Aftermarket Services (CAPAS), focuses on the automotive market in Southwest China. CAPAS is scheduled to take place from May 19-21, 2016 and occupy 35,000 sqm and three halls of the Chengdu Century City New International Exhibition & Convention Center.

Organized by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Automotive Sub-Council (CCPIT-Auto), Messe Frankfurt (Shanghai) Co Ltd, and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Sichuan Council (CCPIT-Sichuan), the fair is expected to host over 730 exhibitors from around the world and welcome more than 16,000 global buyers.

Well-known global car care brands including Liqui Moly, SONAX and Botny have already committed to CAPAS 2016 and several more brands continue to confirm their participation in the exhibition. CAPAS offers new business opportunities and connections to both exhibitors and visitors on the domestic and international stages.

The automotive market in China continues to grow exponentially every year. According to the State Information Center of China, the automobile market share of the provinces in Central and West China has been increasing 2 to 3 percent annually. It has been estimated that the major cities within these provinces, including Chengdu, Chongqing and Wuhan, will contribute over 50 percent of the automobile market share by 2020. CAPAS is positioned as a one stop trade platform for the automotive parts and aftermarket services sector in Southwest China.

The increase of car ownership in China is also evident in the Chengdu region. As of the end of June 2015, car ownership in Chengdu reached 3.39 million units and ranked second in the country after Beijing. Car production in Sichuan is 0.56 million units, a 24 percent year-on-year increase, 20 percent higher than the national average, and the growth of the production efficiency ranked high in the national average. These statistics provide an ideal climate for an exhibition such as CAPAS in the region. As the number of vehicles grow in the region, so will the need for automotive parts and aftermarket services.

New SUV and off-road vehicle zone

Newly established this year is the specific Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) / Off-Road Vehicles zone. This specialized division is organized to meet the booming industrial demand and to also accommodate the consumer who desires spaciousness, height on the road and off-road capabilities. In addition, Sichuan enjoys diversified beautiful landscapes that attract self-driving tourists who prompt demand for SUVs and off-road vehicles.

In addition to the new SUV and Off-Road Vehicle sector, a series of increased auto tuning activities covering topics and performances will also be launched this year. The series of events aims to attract more professional visitors and auto tuning fans while heating up the onsite atmosphere. Additionally, CCPIT Sichuan will be utilizing their ample resources to promote to the traveling and self-driving traveling industry along with the tuning sector.
