The last few years have shown us one thing about the collision repair market: There are some great shops across the country.

It’s time for you to show us how good your shop is, as ABRN launches its 2012 Top Shops contest. The contest is open through Aug. 31, 2012, and now is a great time to get started on your entry.

To enter, you will need to answer nine questions describing your business in a simple-to-complete form.

Judges will score each shop on 10 categories: experience, training and education, shop operations, supplier relations, marketing, website presence, aftermarket involvement, community activities, technical offerings and a photo tour of the shop.

To enter, first download the Top Shops Entry Form. It’s a Microsoft Word file you will complete and resubmit to ABRN. You will need to fill out a company profile about your shop and answer the nine questions mentioned above. Answer the questions by offering as much information and as many examples as possible, but please limit descriptions of each category to 150 words.

You also will need to submit some high-resolution photographs taking judges on a virtual tour of your shop. Please label photos with a brief caption describing who is shown and what is being done in the photo.

Judges will review all of the entries, and winners will be announced this fall. The overall 2012 Top Shop will appear on the cover of the December 2012 issue of ABRN, while the nine runners-up also will be featured in a major article inside the magazine.

See last year’s winners here. Winners also will receive plaques to display and use in their marketing efforts, touting them as a Top Shop.

The contest is open, and we’re ready for your entries. Download the Entry Form here and the complete list of rules here.

If you have questions about the form or entering the contest send an e-mail to ABRN’s managing editor Bruce Adams at bruce.adams @advanstar.com.

Good luck, and we look forward to learning about your shop!

ABRN's Top Shop contest is sponsored by Car-O-Liner, CCC Information Services, Kia, PPG, Sherwin-Williams Automotive Finishes, Spray Tech and Toyota.
