SAN DIEGO – Audatex North America, Inc. has become the first estimatics software provider in the automobile insurance claims industry to offer I-CAR points for virtual instructor-led training classes.

Students can now earn 0.25 I-CAR points for each of the following three virtual courses: Autosource – Basic Conditioning, Audatex Estimating – Understanding the Labor Database, and Audatex Estimating – Understanding the Refinish Database. Audatex will report student status back to I-CAR upon successful completion of each course.

Audatex first joined the I-CAR Industry Training Alliance in January of this year, at which time students could begin earning I-CAR points for the two-day, instructor-led classroom Audatex Estimating course (worth 3.75 points) and the one-day, instructor-led classroom Audatex Estimating course (worth 2.0 points).

Michael Kerrigan, property damage claims manager for Safeway Insurance Company, commented that his appraisal team appreciates the convenience of virtual training courses that let them earn points and gain a deeper understanding of Audatex solutions. He says, “When a repair shop’s staff asks questions of our appraisers in the field, they now feel more confident in answering those questions. It is incumbent upon us to understand how a vehicle should be repaired, especially with all the new vehicle models, different metals and varying paint/material chemicals constantly changing in the marketplace.”
