ABRN is now a platinum sponsor of the Database Enhancement Gateway's (DEG) initiative to offer collision estimating system end-users an alternative for handling inquiries regarding collision repair data.

The DEG sponsor program partners with key corporations serving the collision industry that are interested in supporting the initiative to maintain DEG's services at no charge to the individual user.

The financial support DEG receives from these sponsors is a great support to any individual within the industry who utilizes collision estimating data.

"We are excited to have ABRN as a platinum sponsor. Along with the financial contribution, ABRN also provides the DEG with another outlet that we can utilize to get the word out about the DEG and what free services we provide to the collision industry," says Arthur Harris, DEG administrator.

Along with the sponsorship ABRN has contracted with the DEG to write a weekly blog covering technical topics and other items that the DEG handles during the inquiry process. All of Harris' blogs can be read at www.abrn.com/deg art. Anyone can sign up to receive updates on new blogs, comment on existing blogs or even post their own blog.

Michael Willins, content director for the Advanstar Automotive Group, considers the partnership between ABRN and the DEG to be invaluable. "Art's blogs have quickly gained a following on our website, which really validates our efforts to support DEG and communicate the key database issues impacting the collision repair industry. Long term this is going to benefit everyone involved."

The DEG is an initiative that enables those who use collision repair estimating databases to provide feedback to the information providers in an effort to promote data accuracy. DEG resources include an easy-to-use website and inquiry form, dedicated administration of inquiries and a current database of both pending and resolved data inquiries for the major information providers. The DEG is created, equally funded and maintained by the Automotive Service Association (ASA), the Alliance of Automotive Service Providers (AASP) and the Society of Collision Repair Specialists (SCRS).
