CAPA Technical Committee elects Enlow, Bush to chair positions

The Certified Automotive Parts Association announced the election of Rod Enlow of RENlow Auto Technical Consulting, Inc. of San Antonio, TX and Alan Bush of USAA, San Antonio, TX as chair and vice-chair of CAPA’s Technical Committee. CAPA’s Technical Committee is unique in the collision repair industry and is comprised of nationally recognized collision repairers, part distributors, manufacturers, insurers, and quality experts. The Committee reviews, develops, and approves CAPA’s publically available quality standards. The Committee operates on a fully transparent and consensus basis and its crash parts standard development process has been approved by the American National Standard Institute (ANSI). CAPA’s newly elected chair, Rod Enlow, is President and CEO of RENlow Auto Technical Consulting, Inc. which provides training and process solutions to the automotive insurance and repair industry. He was previously Vice President of Industry Relations for Coordinating Committee for Automotive Repair and prior to that, Director of Auto Industry Affairs for USAA Property and Casualty Insurance retiring in 2003 after 27 years of service. As USAA’s primary liaison with the collision repair industry, Enlow built and executed the business plan for USAA’s Auto Technical Training Center and became its’ first Director of Operations for the Claims Training Division. He was with General Motors Corporation for eight years as an Auto Adjuster with their GMAC/MIC finance/insurance subsidiary. Enlow attended San Antonio College and General Motors Institute, (now Kettering University), and the Darden School of Executive Management Training. Enlow is active in numerous industry functions including the Collision Industry Foundation’s Board of Trustees, past chairman of I-CAR International Executive Committee and Board, inducted into the Collision Industry Hall of Eagles in 2003, CIC Gold Pin Participant, and was a previous chair of the CAPA Technical Committee. He is also a member of Society of Automotive Engineers, South Texas Board of Governors. Alan Bush, CAPA’s newly elected Technical Committee vice-chair, has over 28 years of experience in the property and casualty field, 24 of them with USAA. He has served two previous terms with the CAPA Technical Committee and returned to the committee in 2012. Bush began his career as a body repair apprentice, moving on to become a repair technician, dealership body shop assistant manager, insurance appraiser, and is currently staff claims advisor for USAA. Bush earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with honors from the University of Phoenix and has successfully completed Chief Frame and Alignment’s Structural Technical course, DuPont’s Refinish and Color Matching course and I-Car courses.

Bush currently manages USAA’s aftermarket parts program, previously managed the USAA Streamlined Appraisal and Repair Service (STARS®) and physical damage field re-inspection programs, and is a point of contact for USAA’s physical damage repair and parts programs. He is trained as a Tier One Business Project Manager and is USAA’s subject matter expert in for USAA on their Quality Replacement Parts program, diminution in value, STARS®, the auto claims physical damage appraiser re-inspection programs, USAA claims systems, insurance estimating platforms, and total loss procedures. He also serves as an advisor and subject matter expert for USAA’s auto claims regulatory compliance in the United States, U.S. Territories, and overseas locations.

Both Enlow and Bush are from San Antonio and are avid musicians.
