On Nov. 20, the 21 Puget Sound CARSTAR auto body repair locations presented a 2002 Ford Windstar van to Craig and Maria Sotebeer at the Hi Tech CARSTAR Collision Center, Spanaway WA. The Sotebeers are US Army combat veterans serving in Iraq as medics. Craig is a disabled veteran and is a Purple Heart recipient, bronze star recipient and has a “V” device.
Recently, the family car had to be junked and the couple could not afford to purchase another car. This has made it very difficult for them to keep the necessary appointments for Craig, which are vital for his continued recovery. With an 8-month-old son, and the day-to-day needs of that as well, a van would make all the difference to them in their lives. (See photos from the event at www.carstar.com/pugetsoundcarstar).
"When we heard about Craig and Maria Sotebeer’s situation, there was no doubt we needed to do what we could to help them. We repair and restore cars every day, and giving this car to Craig and Maria seemed like the right thing to do," says Todd Miller, Puget Sound CARSTAR Group. "We are so happy we are able to give this to them just in time for Thanksgiving."
CARSTAR thanks LKQ/Keystone for its contributions in helping to repair the vehicle.
