The 2013 SEMA Show Educational Program includes a special, one-day conference dedicated to helping auto-related businesses succeed in social media and online marketing. Taking place on Monday, Nov. 4, 2013 (the day before the official opening of the SEMA Show), the Online Marketing Conference (OMC) includes workshops and lectures from leading industry experts. Top-rated presenters from the previous conferences will return to share what’s new in the rapidly changing world of online marketing, while several new speakers join the program to educate participants about content management and online optimization. “Social media and online marketing can be powerful business tools,” said Peter MacGillivray, SEMA VP of events and communications. “Yet these tools are fast-paced and constantly changing. The SEMA Show Online Marketing Conference gives business professionals the most up-to-date information in a format designed to meet the industry’s unique needs.” Show organizers strategically schedule the Online Marketing Conference to take place the day before the SEMA Show’s opening. “It’s convenient for participants to come in a day earlier than the Show, and they’re able to roll in their travel costs and get more out of the trip,” MacGillivray said. He continued to explain that when asked what topics they most wanted to see covered in the SEMA Show educational program, both buyers and exhibitors responded with marketing/advertising, particularly Internet marketing. The 2013 program includes three keynote addresses: Survival of the Fitts! Navigating (& Dominating) the Great 2013 Online Marketing Buzz Kill, Powered by ETTN, presented by Marty Weintraub of aimCLEAR; Twitter, presented by Doug Mooney of Automotive Twitter; and Hidden Secrets of Amazon, Powered by ETTN, presented by Bryan Eisenbert of BryanEisenberg.com. Throughout the day, a variety of sessions are available. The sessions are grouped into two tracks to make it easy for participants to determine which is most appropriate for them: a Fundamentals Track or an Intermediate Track.
