Another Mississippi bill of interest, H.B. 848, has also died in committee. MS H.B. 848, introduced by Rep. Charles Jim Beckett, R-23, would have revised the Mississippi Motor Vehicle Safety Inspection Law to require the commissioner of public safety to require inspections not more than once every two years. It also revised the fees for motor vehicles safety inspections.

The Automotive Service Association supported the creation of the Federal Insurance Office and is against repeal of the mandate granted to the FIO to make recommendations to Congress regarding insurance regulations.
