ASA names Collision Division Operations Committee

BEDFORD, Texas - The Automotive Service Association (ASA) announced its 2009 Collision Division Operations Committee.

BEDFORD, Texas - The Automotive Service Association (ASA) announced its 2009 Collision Division Operations Committee. Darrell Amberson, AAM, Lehman’s Garage, Bloomington, Minn., will continue his term as Collision Division director, serving on ASA’s board of directors and chairing the ASA Collision Division Operations Committee. The position of Collision Division director is a two-year term.

Additional members of the operations committee include Ron Nagy, AAM, Nagy’s Collision Center, Wooster, Ohio, who is serving as assistant division director. Nagy also serves on ASA’s board as secretary/treasurer.

Rejoining the operations committee this year is Myron Hazen, AAM, Collision Repair Center Inc., East Moline, Ill. Returning committee members include Mike Anderson, AAM, Wagonwork Collision, Alexandria, Va.; Dan Bailey, CARSTAR Inc., Overland Park, Kan.; Dustin Eckhart, Hernandez Collision Center, Savannah, Ga.; Roy Schnepper, Butler’s Collision, Roseville, Mich.; Mike Schoonover, Schoonover Bodyworks Inc., St. Paul, Minn.; and Dan Stander, Jerry Stander’s Collision Works, Littleton, Colo.

Members of ASA’s Collision Division Operations Committee represent shops of varying sizes from across the United States. The committee works on behalf of all ASA collision members to advance and promote the collision repair industry. Several committee projects are handled through various subcommittees, which currently include refinish, automobile manufacturer, estimating, insurance and crash parts.

ASA’s 2010 convention will be held next spring in Arizona; specific dates and location have not been determined. The association’s annual trade shows – the International Autobody Congress and Exposition (NACE) and the Congress of Automotive Repair and Service (CARS) – will be held during the second Automotive Service and Repair Week (ASRW), Nov. 4-7, 2009. All ASRW events will be located at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas.
