Michael J. Hoke, President of Abaris Training Resources Inc., of Reno Nevada, will join Steve Marks from I-Car to give a special presentation titled “Understanding Carbon Fiber Design and Repair” In the I-CAR Demo Zone at the NACE/CARS Expo and Conference on Thursday, July 23rd from 3:30-4:15 pm, and again on Friday, July 24th from 2:00-2:45 pm.
In addition to the I-Car presentations, Mr. Hoke will be available during normal show hours Thursday through Saturday in the Fiat-Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) meeting room with additional demonstrations and opportunities to discuss carbon fiber structural repair methodologies. Portable hot bond repair equipment from Heatcon Composite Systems will be on display, as well as a portable vacuum pump from Wichitech Industries. Mr. Hoke will be fielding questions about how carbon fiber repairs are performed and how to obtain high quality hot-bonded repairs.
In addition, a special demonstration of non destructive inspection technologies will occur simultaneously at the Abaris table in collaboration with Dr. Jaswinder Sandhu of Santech Systems, Inc. Dr. Sandhu will be using the user-friendly DolphiCam® ultrasonic array camera to demonstrate how internal damage and other flaws can be detected in carbon fiber structures.
These presentations are a “must see” for anyone interested in carbon fiber repairs and the tools and equipment necessary for conducting these repairs in their shops.
