CARSTAR Canada is proud to add CARSTAR Cardston and CARSTAR Olds, both in Alberta, to its network of stores. Located at 304 Main Street in Cardston, Alberta, CARSTAR Cardston is a third generation, family business which first opened in 1955. Franchise partner Darin Sommerfeldt started in the auto repair business in the early 80’s, working at the store, which both his parents, Ted and Carole Sommerfeldt, owned and operated. His father retired about ten years ago and since then Darin, along with his brother Michael Sommerfeldt, have been running the business. CARSTAR Cardston is an impressive 14,000 sq.ft. facility with a recent 5,000 sq.ft. area added for extra repair and office space. The addition provided CARSTAR Cardston with room to be fully equipped and set-up for aluminum repair. Darin comments, “CARSTAR really seemed like the right choice for our business. They are a powerful brand with positive reputation in the Alberta market. We are excited to join the CARSTAR network and look forward to improving our business through their support.” Throughout the years, CARSTAR Cardston has valued the importance of giving back. Darin states, “It has always been important for us to support the community who has supported us over the years. We try to give back locally as much as we can.” CARSTAR Cardston is active in sponsoring local sports teams and other community groups.

CARSTAR Olds, located at 5109 65th Avenue in Olds, Alberta, Canada. CARSTAR Olds is owned and operated by Rod Pedersen and managed by Randy Yantz. The store features an impressive facility with updated equipment and offers a variety of services.

As a successful family owned business, CARSTAR Olds has been around since 1979 and boasts an impressive reputation within the community. Current owner, Rod Pedersen purchased the business from his father and has been working in the auto body repair industry his entire life. His decision to transfer his business over to a CARSTAR franchise was a relatively easy decision.

Rod comments, “The days of the independent body shops are a thing of the past. Now you need the brand recognition, state-of-the-art training and knowledgeable support staff that a big name provides. With CARSTAR, we are getting all of those things, plus more!”

Giving back to their community has always been a top priority for CARSTAR Olds throughout the years. They have been very active within their community, supporting various charitable initiatives and local sports teams such as the Olds Grizzlies.

Please join us in welcoming CARSTAR Olds and CARSTAR Cardston into the CARSTAR family!
