Elephant Auto Insurance claims appraisers achieve I-CAR Gold designation

Elephant Auto Insurance has achieved the Gold designation from I-CAR.

Elephant Auto Insurance has achieved the Gold designation from Inter-Industry Conference on Auto Collision Repair (I-CAR), an international not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing the information, knowledge and skills required to perform complete, safe and quality repairs.

“As cars become increasingly complex, it is critical that Elephant’s appraisers are trained in the latest procedures and techniques” said Aldo Bonacasta, Director of Auto Physical Damage at Elephant.  “Elephant’s investment in I-CAR training for our appraisers not only accelerates their career development, but ensures our customer’s vehicles are properly repaired after an accident.  This achievement of Gold Class recognition is further evidence of Elephant’s commitment to our customers and employees.” 

Elephant has achieved the I-CAR Gold designation by demonstrating that above 60% of their appraisers have received the “Platinum Level” designation by I-CAR.  Achieving this designation requires 12 months of hands on and class room training.  It is estimated by I-CAR that only 10% of repair facilities have achieved this designation.

By achieving the I-CAR Gold designation, Elephant customers can be confident that their appraiser has received specialized training on how to properly repair their vehicle. To achieve Gold designation appraisers are trained on things such as:

  • How to make the right decision for a safe repair
  • How to find hidden damage that others may not see
  • Which parts are appropriate to properly repair the car
  • The latest repair procedures and techniques.
