IBIS 2014 announces speaker lineup

The International Bodyshop Industry Symposium is again bringing together great global minds to share their knowledge and expertise for the 2014 event.
IBIS – the International Bodyshop Industry Symposium – is once again bringing together the greatest global minds to share their knowledge and expertise.

Representatives from across the globe will speak at IBIS 2014 on a range of topics. The full agenda is available online

Confirmed speakers for the packed conference agenda include:

Dr Thomas Aubel
Thomas is executive vice president mobility at TÜV Rheinland with global responsibility for the mobility business unit. He has worked in various management roles at TÜV Süd since 1997 and, most recently, set up TUVTURK with offices in Istanbul.

Thomas will be revealing his findings from a recent case study in Spain.

Sean Carey
Sean established SCG Management Consulting in 2009 and has since consulted at the highest level with all sectors of the automotive claims industry. Currently based in Chicago, Sean has an automotive career spanning over 30 years. From launching Nissan’s Certified Collision Repair Programme in London to working at Fix Auto in the US, Sean is a widely-respected industry expert.

He will discuss the connected car and ask is it a ‘connected or disconnected claims process?’

Michael Macaluso

Michael is the chief operating officer at CARSTAR Automotive Canada. The leader of the executive management team, Michael is directly responsible for the strategic direction and day to day operations of CARSTAR. CARSTAR is a franchised network of 200+ collision and glass centres in all ten Canadian provinces with 2,000 employees.

Michael will be exploring the challenges of passing family businesses from one generation to the next.

IBIS 2014 takes place at the luxurious Hotel Arts, Barcelona 19–21 May 2014. With the support of our partners – 3M, AkzoNobel, Audatex, Automechanika, Axalta, EMM, Enterprise, Innovation, Quindell and Thatcham Research – this year’s IBIS is set to be the best yet.

Since its inception in 2001, IBIS - the International Bodyshop Industry Symposium - has become firmly established as the leading global conference and networking event for collision industry leaders and influencers.

The inaugural summit was held at the Celtic Manor Resort Hotel in Wales in 2001 and hosted 120 delegates from 12 countries. Since then, IBIS has been held at various venues around the world and annually attracts over 350 delegates from more than 35 countries.

Alongside the IBIS Global Summit also sits an increasing number of ‘regional’ events designed to bring global knowledge to local markets. Regional events in 2013 included IBIS Poland, IBIS Russia and IBIS Middle East.
