LKQ Corp. announced a new warranty protection program that will indemnify licensed auto repair shops against injury or damage caused by a defective aftermarket vehicle replacement product distributed by LKQ.

"Never before have repair or body shop owners or insurance adjustors received this level of assurance in using or recommending aftermarket replacement parts in their businesses," the company said.
"We have always stood behind our product quality and offer lifetime warranties for all of our aftermarket crash parts, that's not new," said Rob Wagman, president and CEO of LKQ. "Our Promise of Protection goes one giant step further by offering product liability indemnification. This new program clearly demonstrates our higher level of quality assurance beyond the lifetime warranty, so our customers can be totally confident when buying and using our products in their repair businesses."
LKQ said its alternative parts offering has the industry's widest assortment of products including CAPA and NSF certified parts, ISO-9001 and TS-16949 manufacturing by many suppliers and Platinum Plus parts distributed through our ISO-9001 facilities. In addition, its quality assurance program, AQRP, is available to LKQ's insurance and fleet customers.
In January, parts manufacturer Diamond Standard Brand Parts LLC announced a program of extending product liability protection to approved collision centers free of charge. Diamond Standard's Security Shield product liability protection represents $40 million in product liability coverage as added security to the collision center owner against any personal vehicle-owner injury directly related to the failure of new Diamond Standard parts in the repair manufactured by Reflexxion Automotive Products or Production Bumper Stampings Inc.
