Feb. 9, 2015
VehicleOwnersGuide.com has released EstimateScrubber.com v2.0, which better reads and interprets printed estimates.

VehicleOwnersGuide.com, a provider of technology, connectivity and information solutions to the collision repair market, announced the release of EstimateScrubber.com v2.0 Beta.

The new release is unique in its ability to read and interpret printed estimates. It uses advanced pattern recognition to scan printed estimates for common mistakes not associated with insurer guidelines or missed repair items. The heart of the system is 30 estimating rules including checking for labor notes, identifying missing labor times or parts prices, identifying OEM parts that require refinish, core charges, manual included operations, and other items that often get overlooked during the estimating process. Administrative checks, rates, materials, thresholds, taxes & discounts, required estimate text, required repair operations, betterment, and used, remanufactured, aftermarket parts usage as also included.

"Our goal was to reengineer the whole process and create a scrubber like no other. There are several key benefits. A repairer can review an estimate against the 30 rules to quickly identify missing core charges, lines that are modified but still contain included labor, missing labor or parts and other items. It becomes the shop's expert when reviewing an estimate written with a system the shop is not familiar with. It becomes an estimators fast, final QA check,"  said, Bob Sandkaut, product planning director for VehicleOwnersGuide.com.

The new release works with estimates printed from Audatex estimating, CCC One and Mitchell UltraMate. Estimates printed to pdf files can be uploaded and reviewed. A login is not required.

"We wanted to go beyond the current state of the art to provide a system that augments point and click estimating building. We spent a lot of time modeling the estimator to identify their - 'I'll get back later to that items'. Using the scrubber they will have saved the time to get back to them," said Sandkaut.

"The scrubber contains free and paid upgrade options. As with the original Complete Repair Planning Guide scrubbing we will provide a free set of high value tool to collision repairers. Those that want to upgrade can access additional repair rules and advanced review functionality," said Steven Siessman, president of VehicleOwnersGuide.com.
