On Nov. 14, 2019, a deserving Burlington recipient experienced a life-changing event – the presentation of a vehicle to provide her independence and the ability to work and take care of her family – thanks to Runway Auto, Collision Repair Specialists and car donor GEICO Insurance Company along with the National Auto Body Council™ Recycled Rides®.
The presentation was held at Runway Auto, 3 Commerce Avenue in South Burlington, Vt. The deserving recipient was selected by ANEW Place. “It is easy to take transportation for granted when you have it. Most of us cannot imagine how our day to day lives would change without our vehicles. As a small business we want to be a part of our community and give back in some way. This is the second time we have been able to donate a vehicle to a deserving individual in the community. It was a pleasure to work with ANEW Place in putting us in contact with Stephanie. Stephanie fled domestic violence, coming to Vermont and working her way out of homelessness. This vehicle will be step in her life’s journey. Our goal is to have a positive impact on someone who is working to better themselves or their community. This is the perfect fit.” The recipient was Stephanie Bailey, a mom who came to Vermont fleeing domestic violence who is working her way out of homelessness. The gift of a 2015 Subaru Impreza Wagon provides her with reliable transportation and a positive change in her life. “This makes such a difference in my life,” said Bailey. “It feels so good to be supported by so many people. Thank you.” NABC Recycled Rides is a unique program in which businesses representing all facets of the collision repair industry team up to repair and donate vehicles to individuals and families in need of reliable transportation.
