GEICO awards scholarships, grants to collision students through CREF

The Collision Repair Education Foundation and GEICO Philanthropic Foundation announced the winners of GEICO's national Scholarship and Tool Grant competition.
The Collision Repair Education Foundation and GEICO Philanthropic Foundation announced the winners of GEICO's national Scholarship and Tool Grant competition. The GEICO Scholarship and Tool Grant program provides each selected student with a $1,000 scholarship and $1,000 (retail) in tools.
The student winners of the 2013 spring GEICO scholarship and grant include:
  • Kyle Wright, Chantilly STEM Academy (Chantilly, Va.)
  • Olivia Barszczewski, Alfred State (Alfred, N.Y.)
  • Shannon Braswell, Sarasota County Technical Institute (Sarasota, Fla.)
  • Gerardo Olivera, Cerritos College (Norwalk, Calif.)

"GEICO Philanthropic is honored to support such a worthy cause," says Bill DeGrocco, assistant vice president of GEICO. "We understand how important it is to develop the appropriate skills to receive such a technical degree. The students at these schools show great potential and we're happy to support them."
