Colors on Parade accepting applications for Women in Automotive Scholarship

The Colors on Parade Women in Automotive Scholarship was created in order to support women in becoming leaders, entrepreneurs and business owners within the automotive industry. Specifically, Colors on Parade hopes to encourage growth for women in automotive paint and dent repair.
The Colors on Parade Women in Automotive Scholarship was created in order to support women in becoming leaders, entrepreneurs and business owners within the automotive industry. Specifically, Colors on Parade hopes to encourage growth for women in automotive paint and dent repair.
According to 2014 NADA data, the current percentage of female automotive employees remains stagnant at just 18 percent, with the smallest portion of this statistic being women in autobody. By training female leaders and establishing them as business owners in this industry, Colors on Parade hopes to open many more doors for other women looking to establish themselves. For over 30 years, Colors on Parade has offered mobile automotive paint and dent repair for dealerships, fleets and retail customers. With over 250 locations across the United States and Internationally, Colors on Parade is the industry leader for quality, convenient and ecosmart repairs.

Details:
Chosen applicants will be awarded a Colors on Parade Franchise valued at $5,000*. Included in the franchise is two weeks of intensive paint training and business training at the corporate office in South Carolina, and a three-month paid apprenticeship working in the field. Once training is complete, winners
will have an opportunity to open their franchise in one of our 52 territories across the United States.

*Equipment fees are not included in the scholarship, although 100% financing is available.

Criteria:
• Female involved in the Women in Automotive organization
• Community involvement
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Motivated and quick learner
• Enjoys working outdoors and with their hands
• 18 years of age and older

Application Requirements:
• Complete online application and questionnaire
• Provide 500-1000 word essay explaining what becoming a business owner would mean to you
• Provide a short video introducing yourself
• Interview
