Managers of the Find Green Garage public verification program have announced a new round of grant funding to provide vehicle service and repair shop owners and their customers with cash back rewards for going green.
“Inspired by ‘show me the CARFAX’ commercials, the Green Garage shopping mall and public loyalty program is designed to promote incentives for informed customers to support businesses that protect the environment and reduce the risks of global warming,” said Jody Tallal, CEO of Very Important Relationships, Inc.
Shop owners registered in the ENERGY STAR Green Garage Challenge can now sign up to receive Cash Back for managing their Green sustainability on a continuous basis. Participants in the program will earn from 3 to 10 percent for purchasing green products, minimizing waste, and reducing their energy usage.
“Cash Back rewards are available to shops that achieve a 10% carbon footprint reduction,” stated Steven Schillinger, Administrator of the Green Garage Challenge. According to Schillinger, “most general automotive business activities defined by the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) under codes NAICS 811111 and NAICS 811198 are qualified to receive the offer.”
Qualified shop owners are encouraged to display their Green credentials and services on an ENERGY STAR rated ConstantConsole.com digital menu board funded under various Utility Company rebate programs.
Many Utility Company rebate programs incorporate the energy equity conversion concept similar to FHA’s reverse mortgage program to enable small business owners to use the energy asset value of their business operation to fund the cost of purchasing green products and equipment.
