Chilton, part of Cengage Learning and producer of reference sources for automotive professionals and Do-It-Yourself (DIY) automotive enthusiasts, reports that its professional automotive repair information system, ChiltonPRO, now includes videos and animations that demonstrate system operation, repair techniques and safety precautions to improve and simplify vehicle repair and maintenance jobs.

Utilizing video and animations from industry-leading automotive training programs delivered under its Delmar brand, these resources have been carefully placed into ChiltonPRO as additional support. These exclusive educational elements ensure professional automotive technicians have all the information they need to perform maintenance and repair procedures.

“Chilton is the only automotive reference provider in the industry to offer video and animations with its online products, and we are excited to be able to do this at no additional cost to our customers,” says David Koontz, publisher, Chilton. “The benefits of using our online products -- immediate access to updates, diagnostics designed by instructors, electronic search ability and estimate storing, and now videos and animations -- make it even easier for our customers to complete repairs and maintenance procedures.”

ChiltonPRO is an online, subscription-based information portal for professional automotive technicians and repair shops, and contains step-by-step repair procedures, labor times, maintenance schedules, diagnostics and technical service bulletins (TSBs) in one location. The new videos within ChiltonPRO provide detailed audio and visual overviews of how different vehicle systems function, such as airbags and alternator current generators.

The added animations demonstrate how mechanisms work and how repairs should be safely completed. These new elements help technicians understand systems before working on them.
