“Both Petty’s Garage and Continental Tire are in a growth mode within the performance tuning market, which makes this partnership a great fit,” reports Richard Petty.
“Petty’s Garage was researching and looking for a tire that fits our performance builds, and Continental provides a great performance line of dry/wet/all-season tires with sizes that fit our builds,” he adds.
The enterprise was established in 2008 in Level Cross, N.C. to begin restorations on race car chassis from Petty’s private collection. It is currently constructing a wide variety of custom vehicles.
The partnership with Continental kicked off during the 50th running of the 24 At Daytona, and the tour and will stop at various Grand-Am races, Goodguys events, Fun Ford Weekends and other major car shows throughout the year.
“The name Petty signifies a winning tradition and performance excellence,” says account manager Tony Talbert.
He says the company “is excited to partner with Richard Petty and Petty’s Garage. We believe that our 140-year history of building technology-leading high performance tires is a great match with such a legend in the world of auto racing and performance cars.”
The tour will feature unique vehicles produced at the shop along with Continental’s high performance tires. Visitors will experience a walk-through exhibit and be able to purchase Petty’s Garage signature parts and merchandise.
Greg Steadman, general manager and former NASCAR crew chief for Petty Enterprises from 2000 to 2006, will also be on hand to answer questions and talk shop.
