GENERAL MOTORS: 2007-08 Chevrolet Silverado, Express, GMC Sierra, Savana with 6.6L Duramax engine

SUBJECT: No-crank or no-start may be caused by unintentional activation of the vehicle's anti-theft system. Known groups of vehicles were produced with an ECM programming error that can result in incorrect data being written to the anti-theft system's EEPROM. This refers to the so-called rolling codes used by that system to identify authorized ignition keys. The fix is to reprogram the ECM, but the bulletin specifies not to order the new Calibrations via normal sources. The bulletin includes a list of affected VINs and instructions for obtaining correct Calibration software. Bulletin 08142A

GENERAL MOTORS: 2006-09 Chevrolet Impala, Malibu, Pontiac G6; 2007-09 Saturn Aura

SUBJECT: A whine or growling noise from the power steering pump may be caused by air in the hydraulic system. The bulletin outlines a procedure for bleeding the power steering system using a hand-operated vacuum pump and an adapter (J 43485) on the steering pump cap. Two people are required for the job. Bulletin 08-02-32-004B

ACURA/HONDA: 2004-05 Acura TL, 2003 Honda Accord 4-door

SUBJECT: A safety recall has been launched to inspect/repair/replace the windshield wiper motor. Water can enter a breather port on the motor, causing corrosion that will damage or destroy the motor and prevent windshield wiper operation. Not all vehicles are included in the recall, and the bulletin includes a list of affected VINs. It also includes color illustrations and complete instructions for inspecting and replacing the wiper motor. Honda Bulletin 08-043 Acura Bulletin 08-013

ACURA: 2003-03 MDX, 2005-07 RL, 2004-06 TL

SUBJECT: A new accessory drive belt tensioner has been issued, and installation of the revised part requires trimming the timing belt cover for clearance. The bulletin includes illustrations and complete instructions for the job. Bulletin 08-049

MAZDA: 2006-08 Mazda3, 2005 Mazda5

SUBJECT: A coolant leak at the coolant outlet on the end of the cylinder head may be caused by a poor fit of the gasket on the water outlet. A revised gasket (LF1F-15-169) and water outlet are available. The gasket can be used with the original water outlet or the new design. Not all vehicles are affected, and the bulletin includes a list of affected VINs along with complete repair instructions. Bulletin 01-047/08

VOLKSWAGEN: 2004-05 Jetta, Golf, New Beetle, Passat, Touareg with Diesel engine

SUBJECT: MIL illumination with fault codes indicating problems with the glow plug system may require replacement of the glow plugs themselves. If the vehicle is equipped with Bosch glow plugs, they must all be replaced and the PCM reprogrammed. The glow plugs have been changed and the new glow plugs must not be mixed with the older style. This does not apply to engines equipped with NGK glow plugs. The bulletin includes part numbers, software part numbers and reprogramming instructions. Bulletin 01 08 28 2017520

GENERAL MOTORS: 2006-07 Buick Rainer; 2006-09 Chevrolet TrailBlazer, GMC Envoy

SUBJECT: Total or intermittent failure of the horn may be caused by high resistance in the steering column's ground circuit, especially if the horn works every time when using key fob horn button. That circuit includes the horn button itself, the turn signal cancel cam, the multi-function switch and several additional connectors, culminating in a metal clip on the mounting bracket at the end of the steering column. The bulletin includes color illustrations and extensive diagnostic instructions. Bulletin 07-06-54-001C

SUZUKI: 2004-08 Forenza, Reno (RQ 420) with automatic transmission

SUBJECT: MIL illumination with P0734 and/or P0783 may be caused by an internal failure. The 3-4 upshift will also be harsh. The repair involves replacing the Brake C piston in the 3-4 gear set. The bulletin includes color illustrations, a parts list and complete repair instructions (with the transmission on the bench). Bulletin TS 08 09308

GENERAL MOTORS: 2004 Chevrolet Avalanche, Silverado, Suburban, Tahoe, TrailBlazer; 2004 GMC Envoy, Sierra, Yukon, all with manual HVAC

SUBJECT: On some vehicles, the blower motor may continue running after the ignition key is turned off. The blower may stop after a few minutes, or it may continue running until the battery is discharged. The problem has been traced to a new-style blower relay/resistor assembly that sticks in the "on" position when energized. The bulletin instructs to replace the new-style relay with the original part. The bulletin includes part numbers. Bulletin 03-01-38-015A

MITSUBISHI: 2006-07 Eclipse, 2005-07 Endeavor, Galant

SUBJECT: A safety recall has been launched to inspect/repair the fuel tank bracket mount. On some vehicles, the sheet metal that the left rear fuel tank bracket is attached to may deform and/or crack. It may not be noticed, but in a collision it could break and let the fuel tank fall. The bulletin includes color illustrations and complete instructions for examining and repairing the bracket mount. Bulletin SR-08-005
