Permatex has introduced a new formulation for its popular Permatex Fast Orange Hand Cleaner.
Permatex, a leader in chemical technology for automotive maintenance and repair and the innovator of Fast Orange, has introduced a new formulation for its most popular hand cleaner line. Permatex Fast Orange Hand Cleaner now incorporates MircroGel Technology, an innovative Polymer Emulsion synthetic solvent that eliminates the need for citrus (orange oil) or petroleum base solvents, while continuing to deliver effective cleaning power.

Infused with the MicroGel Technology, Fast Orange delivers the same powerful and quick cleaning performance that has made it so popular with both professionals and consumers alike. It is very effective at removing the toughest dirt and stains, including resins, oil, grease, tar, grime, soil, epoxies, paint, adhesives, and gasket sealants. The MicroGel cleaner feels smoother and is gentler on the skin. Its gel-like consistency adheres better to the hands, which reduces the amount of product needed to get the job done.

The use of MircroGel Technology also helps Permatex Fast Orange Hand Cleaner to easily meet new VOC regulations well in advance of the EPA 2013 compliance deadline, which restricts the use of citrus-based (orange oil) solvents.

According to Permatex Director of Marketing, Diane Phelan, “Permatex Fast Orange Hand Cleaner is the #1 selling, biodegradable, waterless and petroleum solvent-free hand cleaner on the automotive retail market. Maintaining that leadership position with our new formulation and meeting the new VOC requirements was very challenging. But our chemists found a way to get it done. While other manufacturers chose to substitute their citrus base with a petroleum solvent, we decided to take an innovative approach and developed our MircoGel formula. Although petroleum can be an effective cleaner, it is not biodegradable, tends to leave an odor, and can cause dry skin.”
