The “Teach the Tech” contest began Oct. 24, 2012, and runs through Nov. 20 at 11:59 p.m./EST. To enter, “Like” the Ingersoll Rand Facebook page and tell fellow technicians what tips or practical advice you wish you would have known before performing your first automotive service or repair job.

“Industry insiders have indicated that technicians are continuously searching for training and educational opportunities to help them complete service and repair jobs faster and more efficiently,” said Nathan Schmid, marketing manager – vehicle services, Ingersoll Rand. “The ‘Teach the Tech’ contest gives experienced technicians the chance to share the lessons they learned the hard way with technicians who are just starting out.”

Ingersoll Rand will award a W5130 to the technician giving the best tip or advice every Wednesday, from Oct. 31 to Nov. 21. Contest winners will be the first to receive the W5130 when it becomes commercially available in December 2012.

The W5130 is not just a tool, it is a powerful piece of equipment. Born of the same DNA as the revolutionary W7150 1/2-inch Cordless Impact Wrench, it is designed for professional maintenance and automotive service technicians valuing performance and ergonomics. It runs off the patent-pending Ingersoll Rand IQV20 Series lithium-ion battery platform, and is compatible with the other tools in the series, including the W7150 and L5110 Cordless LED Task Light.

Technicians can test out the IQV20 Series cordless tools on display in the Ingersoll Rand booth (No. 10149) during SEMA 2012. For details and official contest rules, visit facebook.com/IngersollRand.
