Ford’s 2013 Police Interceptor Sedan and Police Interceptor Utility are being factory fitted with Goodyear Eagle RS-A tires in size 245/55R18.

The application includes the front- and all-wheel drive versions of the V6 sedan and the front- and all-wheel drive SUV.

“The extensive testing that goes into tires for police/pursuit vehicles, and Ford’s decision to select Goodyear tires for the 2013 Interceptor models, represent validation of Goodyear’s effort toward providing performance for fleets,” says Rick Wendt, channel manager for civilian government sales.

“Across the country, countless other fleets have been using Goodyear tires for many years,’ he adds, “because they know they’re getting a level of performance that helps their professionals do their jobs.”

Wendt describes the high performance tire as “featuring aggressive shoulder tread blocks for enhanced handling capability and wide circumferential grooves to channel away water. Long a popular choice for police vehicles, the Eagle RS-A also has high-tensile steel belts for responsive handling and strength.”
